I am saved. Most people that aren’t saved ask questions like Well how do you know? What makes you think I’m not saved? and How do you know that I don’t know God? Them asking those questions lets me know they don’t know God, better yet they haven’t accepted God into their life. When you accept God in your life everything changes. It starts on the inside, the changes that start to take place happen in your spirit. Let’s start here because most people don’t even know they have a spirit and surely don’t know how to tap into it.

We are multi-dimensional beings

This means that we are not just the human body. The human body is the form we must be in to exist in this realm called Earth. When our body no longer exists, there will be a spirit. Our spirit is free in the sense it doesn’t need to eat or use the bathroom, it’s not confined to a body, our spirit is like free-mind able to travel freely and can exist outside of space and time. If this sounds complicated it is. You can’t necessarily see the wind but you know it exists because there would be no waves in a body of water, you can’t necessarily see the air we breathe but you know it exists because of the trees and the fact that they produce oxygen. Our being is not just flesh and blood but spirit, I’ll try to tackle this more in depth another day.

How do you get saved?

You become saved by accepting Christ in your life. Well, how do you do that? You initiate it, you take the next step. God’s not going to swoop down and save you; he wants you to want it. Just how you want those new shoes, you look it up online, see if they have your size, check out the reviews, seek and ye shall find, knock and the door will be opened (insert scripture). Once you make the decision that you want to accept Christ in your life, what do you gain? Everlasting life. Most people seek God because of a problem. That’s not how God wants you to come to him but because we are such a lost people, we often don’t call on God until things get bad or we need him.

How did I get Saved?

One day back in around 2016–2017, I awoke in my childhood bed, right before I came to awareness, I heard a voice say “I’ll wait for you”. It was a deep, heavy voice. I swear it was God but that’s beside the point. So just like everyone else I was living life, drinking, partying, having sex, working, just living. At this time, I was in my late 20’s. I had a desire for more because it was getting old doing the same things, in the same hood, with my same friends who were doing the same things. I knew I wanted to make money and own a business. So, I was fresh into the business of real estate, I was making a lot of money and things were good. At this time, I was under God’s grace because I didn’t know him like I know him now but he still allowed me to thrive. So, I thought this was it, I’ll do real estate for the rest of my life and I’m good. I thought that was it because I didn’t know at the time that God has a purpose for each and every one of us and the purpose is not money. Money is a tool that can be used for God’s purpose in your life. When you come from poverty you just want to survive and you just want to live, so for the first time in my life I was able to live, travel, have things, pay for my own things, I’m like wow ok this is what normal feels like, Like I’m finally normal like everyone else. Throughout this time, I read many books, listened to many You tube videos and I was seeking God HEAVY. It still hadn’t clicked though. It didn’t click for me until recently, as sure as I am writing this it didn’t all come together in my mind, body and spirit until Late 2021 but I had been seeking since around 2018 but not as diligent as I am now. 35 years old and now my cup runeth over and the spirit of God is in me and it’s not going anywhere. Everything began to make sense. Here are the steps I took to get saved

1. Confess my sins to God and out loud to a witness (can be anyone preferably a person but can really be a dog, just speak it out loud)

2. Read the word, this is still challenging, I recommend finding a mentor, pastor, teacher, believer or someone that knows the bible and teaches it properly. It will most likely not be someone extremely popular because God’s way is often not the most liked way, you want someone who understands biblical principles that can break them down in simple form so you can understand. There are many preachers in the world but my whole life I never found anyone as solid as Pastor Stephen Darby. I was raised in the church and have heard many preachers but none ever really penetrated my understanding like this Man. He has now passed on but you can watch thousands of his videos on You Tube.

3. Most importantly I committed and made the decision to have God in my life. You have to genuinely want to learn and then you will commit.
